Does size matter? Screencasting your Moodle

With so many desktop recording programs around now, from the free to the extortionate, it’s easier than ever for trainers or tutors to enhance their Moodle sites and courses with screencasts.

These might be instructional videos for new employees or students to navigate around the site; they might be training videos for new Moodlers on using standard or contributed activities, or they might be trainer demos in specific skills.

This presentation aims to prompt discussion from both potential and experienced screencasters on what works well and less well when using screencasts in Moodle.  To caption or not to caption? Does size matter? Should you chat merrily away, keep quiet, or let the music move them? And when you’re finally done, what’s the best way of getting your oeuvre online?
