Moodle has been used at the Turkish-German University in Istanbul since spring semester 2014-2015, with Moodle quizzes used as a weekly test in German prep classes. The students attempt quizzes out of class by themselves and are graded through Moodle automatically.
This presentation gives answers to the following questions.
- What problems do teachers face when preparing Moodle quizzes?
- Which question types are used and which are useful for foreign language learning? Why?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of Moodle quizzes as a new form of testing from the teacher’s point of view?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of Moodle quizzes as a new testing tool from the student’s point of view?
To investigate student and teacher opinions about Moodle quizzes they were asked questions via a Moodle feedback activity and the results will be presented.
