Moodlemoot venue -

DCU NursingThis year's Ireland & UK Moodlemoot will held at Dublin City University Monday 11th-Thursday 14th May 2015. This marks the 4th time that the Ireland /UK Moodle Moot visits Dublin. The conference will be on the main campus within DCU.

The DCU main campus is just a short distance from Dublin city centre, Dublin Airport and both the M50 and M1 motorways. The campus is bordered by Ballymun Road and Collins Avenue.   Pedestrian, cycle and vehicular access is via the Collins Avenue and Ballymun Road entrances.   There are additional pedestrian and cycle access via the pedestrian entrance on Collins Avenue and via the Albert College Park.  There is no public through road from Collins Avenue to Ballymun Road.

Travel to DCU

Dublin City University, Glasnevin, Dublin 9  is 5 Kilometres from Dublin Airport  and 5 Kilometres from Dublin city centre, with direct bus routes / taxi links.

Directions from the Airport

For anyone who wants to use public transport from the airport to DCU the following buses are available: 16A, 41, 41A, 41B, 41C. Ask the bus driver to let you out at Whitehall and then walk 10-15 minutes along Collins Avenue to Dublin City University (see map)  Once on campus please follow the signs for the Campus Residences reception. See map of our campus Campus Map Bus timetable information can be found on the Dublin Bus website

Travel from Crown Plaza to the Moot

Although there is public transport available from just outside the Crown Plaza, we will be running buses from the Crown Plaza Hotel, Northwood at 8:00am and 8:30 am on the Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday and heading back after the last presentations.

The venue, DCU is very well served with public transport options from the city centre if people choose to stay there.

From Dublin City Centre by Car

Follow the airport road which takes you through Drumcondra and turn left at the Whitehall/Collins Avenue junction. DCU is 500 metres on the left.

It is also possible to drive through Phibsborough towards Glasnevin, turning into the Ballymun Road. DCU is on the right hand side of the dual carriageway. You will need to make a U turn and take the Ballymun entrance to DCU.  Follow the tree lined avenue, go through the small roundabout and the car park is located to the rear of the residences. Please use the multi storey car park, this can be accessed from the Collins Avenue entrance. 

By Car M50 Northbound

Proceed along the M1 until you come to the roundabout that intersects with the M50 (Junctions 3).  Proceed southbound along the M50 and take the Ballymun exit (Junction 4).  At the traffic lights on the roundabout. turn left and drive through Ballymun. For the Collin Avenue entrance, the Helix and multi storey carpark, turn left at the Collins Avenue/Ballymun Road crossroads.

By Car M50 Southbound

Drive through the Westlink toll bridge and continue along the M50 and take the Ballymun exit (Junction 4).  At the traffic lights on the roundabout, take the third exit and drive through Ballymun.  Follow the directions for DCU as outlined above.

From Dublin City Centre by Bus

Bus Eireann Routes: 103, 105, 11, 116, 11A, 11B, 13A, 19A, 46X, 58X, 77B, 746

By Dart:

The nearest Dart stations to the university are Clontarf and Killester. They ensure that the university is accessible from all areas on the Dart line, including those south of the city. These two particular stations are regularly serviced by the 103 bus which stops on Collins Avenue.

Drumcondra Train Station

Maynooth Station to Drumcondra Station via Leixlip, Castleknock, Coolmine and Ashtown areas.  From Drumcondra train station, you can take the following buses to DCU: 3, 11, 11A, 11B, 16, 16A, 33, 41, 41B, 41C
